Twitter teach students to write concisely with its strict limit on the length of posts and it also enables them to share valuable information but it destroys the ability to spell, as vowels are dropped or numerals used in place of words.
Educators must adapt their teaching to take advantage of new technology, a small but growing number of college professors are using Twitter to keep discussions going long after class is over, share research, pose questions and gather information. Some use it to keep students engaged in large lecture halls by fostering a running online dialogue during class.

Hi there, I think it is also a quick way of communicating. But I have a fear that it also will be destroying pure English as most of the students are having a problem with the language grammar. English educators are struggling to mend the destruction made by technology and its new developments. Provided that correct language of English will be used, therefore there would not be any problems in that regard.

ReplyDeleteTwitter sounds good but my great fear is it will have negative impact on grammar.I agree with dinah, our kids are used to the sms language even if they write an essay you will get the sms language on their scripts. Yes, as educators we must to new technologies but be carefull of their impact to our learners
